The department came into existence since academic session 1999-2000.The Physical education is the important wing of the college. The department has achieved important goals in recent year.

Aims & Objectives:

The knowledge of Games is an integrated part of Physical Education and it has got a lot of scope for carrier development of students. Hence it is important to educate the students so as to develop their awareness and understanding about the importance and the scope of the games and to upgrade their knowledge for making them ready for exploiting carrier opportunities related with the Sports in future. Hence the dept. functions with the following objectives.

  • To give the knowledge of the games to the students till the depth.
  • To make the students aware about the scope of the Sports.
  • To develop the vision of the student for the practical Knowledge of the games.
  • To inspire and guide the students for all round development of their personality.

After the commencement of the academic session, in the month of June, the sports committee meeting discusses which student-centered sports activities will be implemented throughout the year. By reviewing the available sports facilities and materials in the college for participation at the inter-college level as scheduled. It is decided to create an overall budget to train the players in single, team field sports.

1. Participation for Youth Festival through

The college makes a great effort to inspire today's social thinking by spontaneously participating in the inter-collegiate youth festival.

2. Construction of playground

Volleyball, Kabaddi, Ball Badminton, Ring Tennis, Long Jump, Shot Put are the Court set up on the college premises and the responsibility of maintaining them is given to the student players. An additional hall for carom, table tennis and chess, playing and reading books has also been added

3. Inclusion of Sports Representative in Student Council-

The post of Sports Representative is reserved in this Council through the Department of Physical Education. He is responsible for organizing selection tests for inter-class sports competitions and inter-collegiate competitions as well as solving problems. Shri Tulshiramji Jadhao Arts & Science College is making continuous efforts to increase the participation of its students in sports, physical education and cultural and intellectual competitions at the university as well as All India Inter-University level. Physical fitness test is conducted by inviting the Director of Physical Education from other colleges. All the students who have participated in the inter-collegiate competition in any sport are given three marks in the examination by the university.

Yogasana camps are organized on the occasion of World Yoga Day. On the occasion of World Health Day, college students are given health check-ups and counseling by male doctors as well as female doctors.

As per the UGC directives on August 29, under the "Fit India" campaign, health awareness among students is organized by holding a rally to walk 10,000 steps on World Sports Day.

The Department of Physical Education had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the District Sports Officer's Office, Washim (D.S.O.) in 2016-17, keeping the agreement intact.

The Sports Office has provided valuable assistance to the College in organizing 10 day training camps, accommodation, coaching from the State Sports Guide.

4. Teacher & Guardian Scheme

Under this, the Department of Physical Education is taking the guardianship of the students and work is underway to develop an ideal player in these students through sports culture.

5. Games & Sports Committee - Sports & Sports Committee

To prepare the budget of the committee in which sports teams will participate in the academic session 2019-20 through this committee. Organizing events like World Yoga Day, World Sports Day, and World Health Day.
